Ground: wasteland
Weather: blustery
Umpires: finger deficient
Pitch: village
Crowd: frightening and frighteningly young
Teas: salmon
Scorer: lacking concentration - RF
Commonwealth and Balham: poor
St Lukes: unable to bat 45 overs
Catch of the Match: James – who needs two hands; awesome; plucked; balance…..
Man of the Match: Des – well bowled in both spells – deserved better than a 4 f’er. Only one who really stepped up to the plate.
Female Icon: ok not female icon but Rich for escorting two teenage girls into the dressing room….
In short we started poorly, pulled it back with some good bowling and fielding in very tricky conditions. Were then unlucky to get the worse of the pitch conditions but once again failed to bat out the overs, if we’d done so 20 points would have been achieved.
HM Royal Marines:
Most powerful skill you can learn is how to apply
pressure on opponents.
It’s not about skills. It’s about attitude and the effect
on the team. One wrong player can sap all the energy from the group.
